It’s Spring! Is it really though? When I still have to wear winter boots, my toque and my mittens, I wonder if it really is. I figured since Easter is this coming weekend, how about incorporating one of my favourite pleasures into the blog: all things sweet. Easter brings out some of the best desserts of the year so why not cover what you can treat yourself and baby! I was originally inspired by Tourism Hamilton’s post on “Hamilton’s Ultimate Easter-Treat Lineup” but felt it was a bit limited. So with that, here is my own (personal) list for downtowners looking to indulge in preparation for Easter! Fill your basket up with (in no particular order):

Hotti Biscotti (142 James St. N)- You may know them for their soft delicious biscotti, but they have a whole lineup of Spring treats like: huge cookies loaded with spring m&ms, chocolate toffee pretzels, snowballs and lil peeps! Yum!

Chocolat on James (123 James St. N)- If you’re like me and need some sweets for this weekend, come here! Selections like cream eggs, chocolate chickens, frogs and bunnies, dipped marshmallows and spring themed fudges (carrot cake & Easter mini egg) should help fill your basket.

AMO Gelato (171 Locke St)- How about changing it up and getting some Easter-themed gelato?? Amo Gelato is open once again for the season and has flavours inspired by Easter including one that has mini-eggs in it! Sign me up!

Cake & Loaf (321 Dundurn St. S & Hamilton Farmer’s Market)- You have 2 locations to check out and indulge in Cake and Loaf’s huge Easter selection of baked goods. They offer their “Orginal Hamilton Cream Egg Brownie”, mini egg sandwich cookies, mini- cheesecakes, “bunny bait”, hot cross buns with cream cheese icing and many many other things along with vegan options. Phew! You have to see it all in person before they run out.

Hello Baked (342 Barton St. E)- An adorable little sugar shop right near the Hamilton General Hospital. Known for their attention to detail, they have adorable Easter-themed bunny and carrot cookies as well as some cute bunny gummies. Aww!

Crumbled (339 Barton St. E)- Do you like cake? Of course you do! Come enjoy Crumbled’s magical collaboration with Cake & Loaf to produce their “Mini Egg Smash” and “Cream Egg” cake bowls. Yasss.
